It's cheap, it's useful and that's it.Nothing less nothing more.
For a better option, look for the ones that have dioptric correction.
Metallic mount is fixed to the camera base as opposed to some others that have a metal mount glued to the screen.
When using it on a flip screen DSLR like the Canon 60D it prevents the screen from being flipped out but on the good side, it allows you to close the screen properly when not using it.
The view finder sticks to the metal frame by means of magnets and it slips out too easily.
I added a necklace to it to avoid it from falling to the ground all the time and because it's easy to have it hanging at hand reach all the time.
Most of the time I just use it without the metal frame by holding it in position before the shoot.
It's almost mandatory to have one of this to shoot outside in daylight and for proper focusing on small screens.
